What exactly does Spartan Tek Solutions do?
We're an owner-operated technology firm in Houston. We build custom web applications, meaning the public site plus the back office that runs behind it, and we design standalone websites. We also harden Microsoft 365 security and give honest IT consulting. Every client works directly with us from start to finish.
Do you work with clients outside of Houston?
Yes. Application builds, web design, Microsoft 365 work, and IT consulting can all be handled remotely. Houston is where we're based, but we work with clients nationwide.
What is a custom web application?
It's your public website plus the back office behind it. The site takes the booking, the request, or the order, and the system behind it handles the schedule, the money, the inventory, and the paperwork in one place instead of five. Most small businesses run that second half on a spreadsheet, a group text, and somebody's memory.
How is that different from just having a website?
A website tells people you exist and hands you an email. An application runs the work that comes after. If a booking arrives and you retype it into a calendar, then into an invoice, then into a spreadsheet, the website did its job and stopped, and everything past that point is you doing it by hand.
Can I run it myself, or do I need a developer on call?
You run it yourself. Every build ships with an admin where you manage your own content, schedule, pricing, and incoming requests without calling us. That's the point of it. We stay on for hosting and upkeep if you want that, not because you're locked in.
What does a custom application cost?
It's scoped per build, so there's no list price. The shape is a one-time build plus a monthly for hosting and upkeep, and you get a written scope and one number before anything is built. What does web design and development include?
We design and build your site from scratch, no templates, no page builders. That includes the design, the code, mobile responsiveness, performance optimization, and basic SEO setup. We also offer ongoing management plans so you never have to think about updates, hosting, or keeping things running.
Do I own my website after it's built?
Yes. Once your project is complete and paid for, the site is yours. We don't lock you into proprietary platforms or hold your site hostage. If you ever want to move on, you can, though most clients stay because ongoing management is easier with us handling it.
How long does it take to build a website?
A standard small business site typically takes 2 to 4 weeks from kickoff to launch, depending on how quickly content and feedback comes back on your end. We'll give you a clear timeline before we start and stick to it.
What does a management plan include?
Management plans cover hosting coordination, site updates, minor content changes, and general upkeep so your site stays fast, current, and functional. Tiers run from basic hosting and availability, to content updates and support, up to full-service management including SEO and analytics. Scope drives the price, reach out and we'll put together something that fits your situation.
What if I just want the site built without an ongoing plan?
That's fine. If it's a one-time build, the site is handed off to you with everything you need to manage it yourself. Our stack (React/Vite deployed on Netlify) is industry-standard and well-documented. We're still reachable if something comes up.
What Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace work do you do?
We set up, migrate, and manage Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 for small businesses. If your team is still running on personal Gmail accounts or scattered across different tools, we'll get you organized, properly set up, and trained. Security hardening is its own one-time project, and ongoing administration is available after it if you want us to stay on.
How disruptive is migrating to Google Workspace or Microsoft 365?
Less than most people expect. We plan migrations carefully so there's minimal downtime and no lost data. Most small business migrations are completed with the team barely noticing the switch, they just log in to something that works better than what they had before.
What is IT consulting and how does it work?
IT consulting is a structured conversation about your technology: what you have, what you actually need, and what's costing you money without delivering value. We assess your current setup, ask the right questions, and give you a clear recommendation. No upsell, no agenda. Some clients need one session; others need a few. We'll scope it honestly before we start.
Do you offer ongoing IT support?
Yes, in two ways. For Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, ongoing administration covers users, licenses, security upkeep, and day-to-day changes. For everything else, IT consulting is available on demand, billed hourly or in blocks. We don't run a 24/7 break-fix helpdesk; we focus on the cloud, security, and project work we do best.
How do you handle security and data protection?
Microsoft 365 Security Hardening is a one-time project that closes the gaps: MFA enforced, sensible access controls, external-sharing limits, domain spoofing stopped, and account hygiene cleaned up, proven with a before and after grade. Optional monitoring catches drift afterward so the fixes stay in place. For practices that handle sensitive client data, like healthcare, legal, and accounting, a hardened cloud environment is the foundation that keeps you protected and makes compliance far easier to stand on.
What is the difference between SEO and AEO?
